Hi Roberto,

Just a question about which resolution is of soilgrids is using

In the first function, 2 squared degrees to sample the database.

The second one depends on how you provide the samples.

Which issue are you facing?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply. I´m still starting to look at the package. Previously I´ve downloaded Soilgrids 1k and used raster to extract the site´s data. Soilgrids250 has been too large to do this.

rfn-qtl commented 1 year ago

Yeah, I agree. I decided to develop this package for a couple of reasons. One is what you said. If you need to retrieve many samples, it takes too long. Also, when a read their paper, it was clear that they were not able to predict with the same accuracy as they described. So, what I did was to "recreate" the SoilsGrid 2.0 in R, but without masking any drawback as they did. Believe it or not, I'm working on the SoilType manuscript right now. I hope I will submit it very soon.

Ahh excellent, I expect to be using this package quite a bit.

Thanks a lot and wish you a speedy publication path!
