Interesting just looked at the PIV calculations https://github.com/christophmark/jointforces/blob/48365cef2dc86ca43925a43f4cb1979b83c32645/jointforces/piv.py#L16 and they also use openpiv. The main difference is that they use the standard implementation rather than the WiDiM. See notebook with a nice cython implementation. Are the two linked from Pere's lab? ... I've not read in depth yet
