What happened?

I have tested four PC Engine CD games: Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire, Star Parodier, Super Raiden and Winds of Thunder. Neither work when trying to run these normally, returning to the game selector the very moment user attempts to run them.

syscard3.pce is present. When using RetroArch app (Apps & Games -> Apps -> Retroarch), manually navigating to the game location, opening it with beetle PCE core, they do run properly. So it isnt the case of missing BIOS or RetroArch problem.

Games are in folders containing all .bin files and cue sheet, if it's relevant info.

First is: have you tested other cores? at the game selection, press (select) to pull up that menu and cycle through different cores to test.

OK, this is very weird - for some reason, when supergrafx core is used, these games do run! Despite the fact none of my games are SuperGrafx, just PCE CD. And via RetroArch, they ran fine through Beetle PCE Fast core, without the nned to use SuperGrafx core... weird

RetroArch database(s) that are associated with the Beetle SuperGrafx core:
