The topic here looks good, but this proposal is missing a key piece: the data sets you've started to identify. Can you please update the proposal to include the missing information:

Your likely data sources. For each, include:

• a URL
• short description (2-3 sentences)
• estimates of how many rows/columns the source will provide

And any questions you have for us.

Hi @jamesturk - I did include my list of likely data sources in the proposal.md file in my repo here. I believe you might've only looked at the README.md file, so I also added the list of data sources to that file.

Hi, very sorry about missing that, my mistake.

Your sources look solid to me, a few of them are quite large, but you've already put some thought into how you'll reduce the number of data sets. Keep in mind that every visualization type stops becoming readable at a certain information density (e.g. imagine 100k points on a scatter plot, or 1000 bars on a bar graph). For the most part that will be fine, but you'll need to give careful thought to what aggregations you're making and the final number of data points. For road segments you may need to focus on roads above a certain size, slice by time, or choose only certain major roads to get the data to a manageable size.

If you run into any issues with that, or have any other surprises with data along the way, please reach out via Ed or office hours and we can help, but it'll be important to get started on that sooner than later so you can focus on visualizations.
