Can't seem to include the two residents shown below even though they are in my residents book

The command seemed to have been entered in the wrong tab. The include command is specifically an Event tab command, entering this command in the Resident tab would result in an Unknown Command error. This behaviour or is also documented in the UG.

Even though the visual tab is residents, the command has been executed in the residents tab. The UG separates which commands are to be run on the Residents and Events tab.
