I vote for this as there are mirrors that are not maintained very well, breaking the whole thing httpredir tries to resolve. To me its more about having reliable mirrors.
Please! Some of the sites httpredir sends me to are blocked by my company's IT (with good reasons)
It would be nice if there were some way to request only official debian mirrors such as ftp.de.debian.org, ftp.us.debian.org, *.debian.org. This would allow httpredir.debian.org to work with squid-deb-proxy, which restricts which locations can be mirrored to .debian.org machines by default.
Maybe URLs such as "http://httpredir.debian.org/debian.org/debian" would be a viable way to request only mirrors with "debian.org" subdomains.
