RFE : Could WR monitor the water depths under the proposed route so that the boat always has at least the safe depth indicated in the options/Charts/Vector charts #130
users of O_Charts vector charts or other vector-charts.
users who use the "4 colors" setting in the "Options/Charts/Vector charts".
There are white areas, sky-blue areas and dark-blue areas. In the dark blue areas, the water height is lower than the water height indicated as "Shallow depth" in the "Options/Charts/Vector-charts".
To prevent the route proposed by WR from passing through a dark blue area, simply create a Boundary, with OpenCPN's "Draw" plugin and check the "Detect boundaries" box in WR's options.
But, as it appears on the screenshot, it is easy to forget certain dark blue areas which are not inside a boundary.
Would it be possible for WR to check the water depth and prevent the proposed route from passing over an area that is too shallow?
Dave,
This concerns both
