Kind of. EPW files contain hourly climate data so they are required for wind roses, climate based daylighting analysis and energyplus simulations. They do however contain lat/long data and this can be used instead of manual input for analyses that only require geolocation: sun-path, static lighting, shadow study etc. In building analysis the lat/long is constant and you usually know or can find out the specific lat/long of your site quite easily so the ability to browse for lat/long is not a priority currently. The VI-Suite also stores lat/long in the scene. It may well be that if Blender GIS stores that data in the same location then the VI Location node would pick it up automatically. Regards Ryan
Hi, first of all, really impressive work. Is there a difference between manual lat/long and epw files functionality-wise apart from the chart node? - If epw files are really better for simulations, would it be possible to add all the energy plus available epw files by default or provide an automatic download of the nearest available (based on manual values)?
Kind regards
