I would like to use libespeak-ng in praat (http://www.praat.org). Currently we are still using espeak-1.48. Using the compiler options CC=gcc CFLAGS="-Werror=missing-prototypes -Werror=implicit -Wreturn-type -Wunused -Wunused-parameter -Wuninitialized" spawns a lot of errors/warning about missing prototypes and so on. This patch tries to make the compiler more happy. If you accept this patch or use it, it makes it more easy for me to keep in sync with your great work.

Thank you in advance

I have made fixes for the warnings you listed as being used with praat, so espeak-ng should now compile cleanly with those warnings enabled. I haven't looked at fixing the shadowed variable warnings yet.
