Browser quotes "too many redirects" if username isn't entered case sensitive #344

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. create a client, username "Test" and a password
2. try to login with username "test" and the given password

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
User should be redirected to his account OR he should get a message that the
username has to be entered case sensitive. Instead the browser (Safari,
Firefox, IE) quotes that there are too many redirects to finish the request.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ProjectSend r412
OS X 10.8.4 Safari, Firefox
Windows 8 IE 10
Windows 7 IE 9, Firefox

Hi,

When entering a wrong password you should see the appropriate message even if
it's related to case sensitive.

Too many redirect occurred once on my test installation, and seems to be
related to browser cookies.
So clean the browser cookies and try to reproduce the problem, it's should be
ok after that.

Search in the ProjectSend issues list, it was reported several times.

Hi,

thanks for the quick reply. Actually it's like this issue:
http://code.google.com/p/clients-oriented-ftp/issues/detail?id=257
If I enter a wrong password or a non existing username I get an error quoting
the problem. That would be great if there is a
upper-/lowercase-missmatch-warning.
You can try it here:
http://projectsend.web-und-design.net
Username: testuser
Password: test

Try to login with the username "Testuser" (capital "T") and you'll get the
redirects instead of a username-missmatch-warning.

This is solved thanks to a user contribution. The next version contains this
fix. I'm currently testing a few things preparing for release.
