We want the current Git implementation to support:

Checking whether main remote is ahead of upstream
Resetting main remote to latest commit in upstream with force-push (shouldn’t be done if main remote is ahead of upstream)

Can only operate master branches for now.

cc @ronaldtse I believe this is what you had in mind when we were discussing “reverse PRs”
