Note that I could also move the link to a less prominent place, for example at the very bottom after the Creative Commons license.
I like the idea of keeping it but moving it to the bottom. It would make it less a prominent part of the page and more an "if-you're-curious" type thing.
I think we should leave it as part of our website, but I also like the idea of moving it to the bottom. Most people probably wouldn't be interested in looking at it, but it gives people the opportunity to learn more about GitHub and about the revisions and different ideas we had about presenting our information.
I've updated the site and moved it to the bottom so it looks like this:
What do you think?
I think that looks good.
Looks good!
Thanks! If no one else has objections, I'll close this issue on Monday morning and make the drafts
repo public.
No objections here.
I agree with moving it to the bottom of the page - looks good!
I like it at the bottom of the page. It's useful for digital historians to be able to look at the revision process, but I feel like making the link too prominent distracts from the main purpose of the site and becomes a little too inviting for harsh anonymous internet criticism.
Right now, I have included a link on each page to the "commit history" of that page on Github, as an experiment in how to present scholarship in a digital medium. For others to be able to see this, we would have to make our drafts repo "public."
Does anyone have any questions or concerns about doing this?
