It seems like on a large enough wiki, editors would tend to forget what pages even exist on the wiki. This could lead to people "reinventing the wheel" (e.g. writing similar pages under a different name). I'm curious how people have solved this problem.
I just discovered that MediaWiki has Special:AncientPages for finding pages with the oldest "last edited" dates, which is a quick way to find pages that have been abandoned.
