We need the support for loopback interfaces for CI and verification purposes. The way the change is done means that no client has to be adjusted.

What needs to be done to make AppVeyor happy?

Seems the build pipeline is broken, I don't think the failure is related your commit. Unfortunately @richardschneider did not respond to issues for over an year now and pull requests are starving...
