A solution was found by NeoStuey in Mystiquemac Forum.
Here is his solution:
"I was only able to reduce my NC10's brightness using FN+12 but not increase it
using
FN+INS so I deleted ApplePS2Controller.kext and replaced it with
VoodooPS2Controller.kext in /Extra/NC10Ext.
Then I deleted Extensions.mkext from /Extra and ran UpdateExtra in /Extra and it
rebuilt the Extensions.mkext in /Extra.
Rebooted and now it's working perfect without any noticeable issues."

Increasing the brightness using Fn-Ins works, if you replace the
ApplePS2Controller with the
VoodooPS2Controller. More information can be found in the thread mentioned
above.

did a plain netbook installer installation on a nc10 and then removed
clamshelldisplay.kext
but there still are no brightness sliders
