I ran Netbook Installer manually from the USB's Utility menu and I still get
the same
error messages when I try to boot the machine.

I also tried restoring the DVD image on the USB and then running
NetbookBootMaker
0.8.3 but when I tried to boot from the USB, I get a funny error screen and a
message
that said "you need to restart your computer"...

Could someone please help?

I hope I don't have a brick on my hands...

Oops! I spoke too soon.

I started the whole process from scratch again and for some unknown reason this
time, after installation,
the machine booted properly into 10.6.0. I have no idea why it didn't work
before but I'm not complaining
about it working now.

That said I could still do with some advice.

If I wanted to update this system to 10.6.2 (not 10.6.3) by downloading the
combo update directly from
Apple, will it work? Do I also have to apply/run NBI? If yes, which version,
0.8.3 or 0.8.4 RC1? Do I run
NBI before or after the system update?

Thanks in advance.
