Dell Mini 9 - iChat / Photo Booth crash

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Snow Leopard as directed.
2. iChat: Launch, then open Video Preview from the Apple menu.
3. Photo Booth: Launch the application.

What netbook are you using this on?
Dell Mini 9, Bios A06

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
iChat: Crashes immediately upon attempting to use any video functions (eg:
Video Preview).
Photo Booth: Begins to load (bouncing Dock icon), then crashes before
displaying anything. 
Launching from the command line produces no output - the applications
simply terminate.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
NBI 0.8.4 RC1 on Snow Leopard 10.6.3

Please provide any additional information below.
Camera shows up in System Profiler in Contents -> Hardware -> USB -> USB
High-Speed Bus as "Integrated Webcam"

Update: It's started doing it again - spontaneously on the aforementioned 
working
clean install. All information same as initially posted.
