unknown events leading up to Growl.app throwing an exception and exiting #554

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. User has growl running for an indeterminate period of time
2. Something happens (likely an application sending Growl invalidly formed GNTP 
packets)
3. Growl throws an exception in parsing the data and terminates

Applications the user says are growling regularly: Osfoora, Sparrow, torrent, 
Enqueue, Hardware Growler, Transmit, parallels desktop, Textual irc, iTerm2, 
Path Finder, Adium, Firefox, Chrome

a growl side problem exists, but it could also possibly be sdk related, so 
marking both in the labels
