Luminance value not reported for devices added or re-added to the Electrolux account #6

A newly added Pure A9 device does not report luminance.

  1. A new or existingt Pure A9 air purifier is added to the Electrolux wellbeing app and then linked to the Electrolux account.
  2. The Pure A9 air purifier is then added to the Homey through the Electrolux Wellbeing Homey app.

Expected behavior All sensor values were previously visible and frequently updated and visible through Homey.

Actual behaviour The Luminance value is not visible for any of the three added Wellbeing Pure A9 air purifiers. However prior to disconnecting and reconnecting them from the Electrolux account the Luminance value was updated.

Could it be that Electrolux has changed the parameter name or simply removed the parameter for all newly added devices?

Thanks for reporting. The luminance values never worked well, I believe. I think the sensor is really not that good. Could you please send an error report from the app and give me the ID for it, so I can see some logs?

Well it has been working adequate for me. Basically just used to see if it's bright or dark. I actually do not think your app is at fault here but rather that something has changed at the Electrolux end. I have three devices and today one of them was reporting luminance. That device was added to the Electrolux account last summer. The other two that does not report luminance but only null was added a couple of weeks ago. So I tried to remove all of them from your Homey app and adding them again. Also made a restart of the app, of the homey and also removed and added the app again. After this everything still was as before, meaning that one reported luminance (the device added to the Electrolux account last year) but the other two did not.

Now I went on to the Electrolux account and removed the ones not reporting the luminance and added them again but that did not help. So I decided to sacrifice the working one. I removed the working one from the Electrolux account and added it again and now that one does not report luminance either. So I believe that Electrolux has changed something at their end. They probably still relay the values on the old parameter but it seems they do not allow it to be used by newly added devices. Just a guess. Either they have renamed it or they intend to remove it. Again just a guess. By the way, är du svensk? ;-)

Which ID is it that you need?

Thanks, got the report. And yes I am Swedish :)

From what I can see in the log, it doesn't look promising. Looks like the value EnvLightLvl was removed from the property set. I'll try and do the add/remove thing myself (after dumping the API traffic for comparison) and see if it was moved someplace else altogether.

The value can probably be used to detect light/dark but other than that the value is totally unreliable and even the cheapest Xiaomi sensors will be a lot more accurate. That said, if the value is there still I will add it back :)

Hi,

Yeah I suspected that it was Electrolux that had made changes on their side. I'll keep my fingers crossed but I guess the outlook is a bit slim. Thanks anyway for your efforts! Much appreciated.

Regarding the other issue I posted. Would it be hard to implement a "Then-card" to turn off the indicator ring in manual mode?

Thanks again for your great work! Magnus

Closing this as the luminance value is gone from the API. Probably Electrolux realized that the sensor was more or less useless
