Looking to enhance how the plug presents form fields for opening and saving documents.

From Tom

In the attached, the lines through the “Organization” or “Project” button indicates that the button is depressed. These two buttons toggle, obviously. Lines through the “Client” and “Matter” field indicate that the fields gray out when the “Project” button is depressed.

The idea here is that folks can use any many or as few fields as they like.

“Save As SAME Version”, “Save As NEW Version”, “Organization”, “Project” and “Save As New Document” are buttons. Yes, I’d like the Save buttons to be that big.

If the user is working on a newly created document, the “Save As SAME Version” and “Save As NEW Version” buttons would be grayed out (because the user must choose the Organization or Project, and the Client, Matter, Folder and Document Name, to assign to the newly created document). If the user is working on a document that has already at least once been saved to ProLoop, then if those buttons are obviously initially not grayed out. However, pressing either the “Organization” button or the “Project” button, or entering a character into any field, will gray out the “Save As SAME Version” and “Save As NEW Version” buttons.

“Folder” is a heading (should look sort of like a button that can’t be pressed) attached to a grayed-out field below the button (when it is not depressed). When a Matter is selected, the field ungrays and populates with the folder tree associated with that Matter.

The rest are smart fields. If the user is working on a newly created document, typing in a word that appears in the Client name, Matter name, etc., should pull up all client names, matters names, etc., that contain that word. Selection of an item in any field limits the search, with the exception of the “Document Name” field, where the user must type in the user must type in the Document Name. If the user is working on a document that has already at least once been saved to ProLoop, then the Client, Matter, and Document Name should automatically populate with the information associated with the already saved document, so the user can simply change the information that will be different as associated with the new document as compared to the already saved document (as opposed to typing in all information from scratch).

If a particular Matter is selected before a Client is selected, then the Client field should obviously auto-populate with the Client name with which the Matter is associated.

So there no pop up windows at all associated with “Save”.

Re: The 2 “Open…” Attachments:

“Organization”, “Project” and “Search” are buttons. Yes, I’d like the Search button to be that big.

“Folder” is a heading (should look sort of like a button that can’t be pressed) attached to a grayed-out field below the button (when it is not depressed). When a Matter is selected, the field ungrays and populates with the folder tree associated with that Matter.

The rest are smart fields. Typing in a word that appears in the Client name, Matter name, etc., should pull up all client names, matters names, etc., that contain that word. Selection of an item in any field limits the search, with the exception of the “Document Name” field, where selecting a document name from the smart suggestions should open the document. If no particular Document Name is selected, any words left in the Document Name field, should also limit the search upon hitting the “Search” button.

If a particular Matter is selected before a Client is selected, then the Client field should obviously auto-populate with the Client name with which the Matter is associated.

So there is only one possible pop up window associated with “Open”: if no particular Document Name is selected, hitting the “Search” button results in a pop-up window with all the matching Document Names.

Shaded means that the button is pressed/selected. There are notes in the email that explain this. Do you see the notes?

Re: "word stem wild card search" if that means something like a smart field like typing something into Google Chrome and options containing that word appear in a drop down menu, then yes.

For review ...

A document server can host multiple Organizations and Projects. But login must be a member of a Project, or a member Organization for it to even be listed.

Folder then show up like this ...

.../Projects/[ Proj 1 ]/[ folder 1 ]/[ folder 2 ]/.../file

.../Organizations/[ Org 1 ]/[ Client 1 ]/[ Matter 1]/[ folder 1 ]/[ folder 2 ]/.../file

Orgs just have 2 'magic' folder levels Client / Matter
