Thank you for this really nice addition to the ATA emulation. Although I have no clue (yet) what I can do with it, I know this will become usefull to someone someday :).

Currently it is hard to tell if it become useful, cause it may be necessary to run a game from the HDD for example.

Is pfs/apa support on both real and emulated hdd needed for this?

Typically HDD OSD used as a game launcher. If we want to bypass HDD OSD use, it may be necessary to use some sort of apa handling. But I am not sure. Some games can use gamedisks as a launcher, like FFXI.
