ComboBoxItem and SelectItem do not expand with Google Chrome 4.0.249.43 #386

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add a ComboBoxItem to a DynamicForm
2. Initialize its values with ComboBoxItem.setValueMap (LinkedHashMap);
3. Click on the ComboBoxItem's down-arrow to show its options

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the options list box to be displayed, instead it is not displayed.
Also note that the setValue () invocation is respected, and the
ComboBoxItem shows the proper text in its edit box.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SmartGWT 2.0, GWT 2.0, XP Pro.
Works fine on IE 6, does not work on Google Chrome 4.0.249.43, which is the
latest I downloaded as of this past weekend.

Please provide any additional information below.

Can OP clarify this issue only concerns development mode and works OK in Chrome
in
compiled mode?

GWT appears to have fixed this. See
http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/detail?id=4486

Can you verify this is resolved using a build from GWT trunk?

I just retested this with SmartGWT 2.1, GWT 2.0.3, and Chrome 5.0.342.9beta and
the
problem still persists.
Just like before, this works fine on IE 6.
I used the identical test case.

@shortpasta: The fix is not in the Chrome, it is in upcoming GWT 2.1

This is a GWT issue that has been fixed for the upcoming GWT 2.1 release.

I tested with this:
gwt 2.1.0.m3
smartgwt 2.3-1397
Google Chrome 6.0.472.62

Works in compiled mode.
Does not work in dev mode.

Not solved with the GWT2.1 release Oct 28 2010. What is strange is that the
issue http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/detail?id=4486 still
has status FixedNotReleased but planned for Milestone-2_1. Is it in or not in
GWT2.1 ?

I am running GWT 2.1.1, SmartGWT 2.4 and Chrome 8.0.552.237. This is the latest
version of everything available but i am still having this issue. Works fine in
compiled but not in dev mode..

Is there anything i can do apart from switch browsers for hosted mode?

Original comment by willfle...@gmail.com on 4 Feb 2011 at 1:56

I also tested with this:
gwt 2.1.1
smartgwt 2.4
Google Chrome 8.0.552.237

Works in compiled mode.
Does not work in dev mode.

Works with IE9.

@sanjiv: i would not categorize this as "show stopper" since we can use other
browsers to work, but we are talking about a basic control here... can you
point me to the gwt issue # covering this problem (if not
http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/detail?id=4486 which is
marked fixed and has no recent activity) and i will open a new issue or try to
reopen 4486...

It doesn't work in development mode with chrome,

but works after deployment.

I'm working with GAE 1.5.2 / GWT 2.3.0 / SMART-GWT 2.5.
