Installed it via apt as reccomended and it just won't start,

It doesn't help with a one liner like this. Lots of people (including me) use it. And I maintain the package for Debian and know of it for sure.

I'm closing this issue but please feel free to re-open when you have some meaningful information about why it just doesn't start.
