Option To Not Make Larger And Set Cache File Type #55

It'd be EXCELLENT if you could choose whether or not to enlarge a dimension
that was already smaller than the size you are cropping to. I've been using
the modified file in this thread:

http://code.google.com/p/timthumb/issues/detail?id=28

and it is accomplishing this already. But when I download the newest
timthumb script, my pages are taking forever to load and images are getting
stretched/distorted.

I want the best of both worlds :) ...

The file I'm currently using doesn't have the fix for the transparency
problems and i'm getting lots of black backgrounds.

It'd be excellent if you could set the file type for the cache, I'd rather
save as jpg instead of png

I have the same problem with images under the size limit being expanded to fit.
I
dont want small images enlarged, I want large images reduced.

The problem is Revision: r70 and 'remove size restriction so that images can be
scaled up as well as down'. Putting this removed code back in latest r71 fixes
my issues.

I think I am misunderstanding something here. The code that was removed in r70
shouldn't distort your images should it?

Could you show mean example of the problem so that I can reproduce and fix it?

Yes, it will distort when it upsizes - the images look blocky. That is
unavoidable
during a scale-up.

What would be great is if H and W (upper case) set those dimensions as maximums
not
targets.
