About Jasper Lake supports QSV options #72

Closed otti83 closed 1 year ago

otti83 commented 2 years ago

I'm using the Jasper Lake Celeron N5100. However, I checked with QSVEnc that the CPU does not support the LA-ICQ option. The Jasper Lake Celeron N5100 has a newer GPU, so I think that it would support LA-ICQ. Do you know cause that Jasper Lake is no support the option ?

Sorry, I failed encoding with ffmpeg LA-ICQ option too.

Jasper Lake only spports encoding in fixed function/low power mode. Lookahead is not supported there as far as I know.

rigaya commented 1 year ago

I also think if support is limited to FF (fixed function) mode, unfortunately lookahead won't be supported.

Previous version of QSVEnc could not show whether PG mode (non fixed function/low power mode) is supported. However, QSVEnc 7.08 or later can now show clearly whether PG mode is supported or not.

It could be checked by QSVEnc64.exe --check-features.

If both PG and FF is supported, both PG and FF will show up. (example → 12900K)

However, if support is limited to FF only, only FF will be shown. (example → Arc A380)
