11 months ago If you go into Facebook settings (3 line hamburger menu below the 3 dot Slimsocial menu) and turn on dark mode there first, then it works. Probably not desirable to have to turn on in 2 places, but at least that should make it usable fir you.
edit: actually might be better to only turn it on in the facebook settings. If I turn it on in slimsocial settings too, then it breaks icons (this is mentioned in issue 188)

(More a workaround)
You don't have to change in the app settings to dark mode, but in the FB settings. (Sorry, screenshot is in German)

5 months ago Oh thanks Jörgi, would not have found this. Unfortunately I am also not too happy with this toggel in "FB" itself, for my OLED phone nice, but unfortunately also dark on my PC then - and here I PREFER bright white :'(
so an toggle in the faceslim App is better - but in 10.0.10 the messenger in transparent over timeline BG in "black mode"
My latest upgrade of SlimSocial broke it. The text is unreadable, in dark mode. Dark mode seems to be turning turning the text characters white, so I see white on white. Unreadable. My phone is a Galaxy A13 5G, running android 13, one UI Core version 5.1 I have been a loyal user of SlimSocial since around 2017-18. I LOVE the app, as an open source alternative to FaceBook's clutter, and lack of privacy. Please fix it, because the change to Flutter seems to have broken features that I need with my eye issues. Thanx!
