Delta is close to being the perfect solution for playing DS games & capturing/recording them at same time. I have my Apple TV connected to a capture card, which allows me to capture the top screen over AirPlay. Then, I use the NDI HX iPhone application to capture the phone display / bottom screen over my network.
This works perfectly when using the on-screen controls... But as soon as I connect a controller, the bottom screen, which is suppose to display on the phone, becomes hidden. There's a option in the DS emulator's settings that lets you prevent the bottom display from being mirrored over AirPlay. So, I'm sure that the intended functionality is for the touch screen to continue displaying on the phone. Alas, with a controller connected, that is not the case.
Fairly certain this is a limitation that could be easily overcome... my guess is there needs to a toggle for displaying custom layouts when a controller is connected. You'll notice without AirPlay, that when you connect a controller your set layout is ignored.
So when using a controller, the controller skin disappear
and when airplaying, the upper screen is displayed on TV
well when using both, the lower screen isn’t displayed on the phone, which is bad knowing post people using a TV would like to use a controller, it’d be good to be able to still see the lower screen when doing both
