Currently there are 2 distinct content types for pages currently: Landing Pages and Pages, and both are either half-implemented or poorly implemented. The editing experience for landing pages was never polished up for the site, so there are a number of things still needing done to get the "marketing" or "landing" page experience editor-friendly:
[x] Make major landing pages completely editable, with ability to add, remove, and reorder sections of content, with a set of block types that are common across them.
[x] Make pages that are mostly dynamic content have at least their copy and imagery able to be updated.
This work will begin with finding the best editing experience on the CMS side of things, then creating a page data story that can flexibly handle everything available to editors within the CMS.
