Why are redirects not followed by default? Are there any plans for development?

The project isn't really maintained right now. See #12 .

I'm ready to invest at least a few hours a day if you can handle the service hosting for production scale.

There's no logical ground for legal concerns as the methods used posses no security risk; furthermore I think it empowers browser scripting a lot.
