I did several usd transfers from my ripple wallet rDButXHzT9jBRbfBymVpB1R6ZTwAoNP422 to Bitstamp. I have recieved on Bitstamp account 500+ usd less then i had sent. Some of them were probably done sending xrp to turn them into usd. I applied to Bitstamp support with the list of transactions from my ripple Balance. Most of them were not funded: Transaction 8E465DA7265BFF21A253188C5FCAD19F689F92B890CBC0DCF29EC0D977DFE1A6 100 USD Ledger number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n couple of days Bitstamp support eventually responded "these transactions did not reach our account. They all have "TransactionResult" : "tecPATH_PARTIAL". So the question is - where is the money?

JoelKatz commented 11 years ago

When you get a tecPATH_PARTIAL, that means nothing changed except the transaction fee being claimed. It also means the transaction you specified could transfer some finds to the destination but not as much as you asked it to transfer. So the money is still right where it started.

The problem is that these are XRP-to-USD conversions, not direct payments. And the SendMax specified is way too small to cover buying that much USD. How are you forming these transactions? Are you using the client?

Yes I am using the official client. Well it's somewhat confusing with those empty claimed transactions. It means that banance events is not a valid account history. Is there a possibility to check on account history and see what exact payments have been made and make sure that the account was not billed? And i believe it's really the first thing that every online wallet needs:)

I did check them. They appeared to be attempt to pay using XRP. These can fail if the exchange rate changes, though it's odd to see so many rate changes, it can happen. Were you trying to pay USD to Bitstamp using XRP? Or did you mean to transfer USD? Which green "send" button did you hit?

I tried all the possible ways including to pay USD to Bitstamp using XRP. Actually that was happening in a rush of trading. I did a line of transfers (10+). So i don't remember exact button for every transaction. After that i noticed that on my ripple account events it was sent in total 800+usd but i got only 300+usd on my Bitstamp.
