Guys I'm looking into solar panels and solar power for both the proposed orbiter plan and also the actual probe using data from a simulation by NASA in 2013 as well as other resources online.

The solar panel doesn't work on Venus as it has 6o nights rest of the day(277) amount light entering is not enough as it's block by thick layer of sulphur dioxide and co2 smog. The light received is again red shifted where as the solar diodes require blue shifted light in order to work.
