Request summary:
Have some setting that tells Universal Analytics to not override the previous
traffic source
Use Cases:
Adwords brand campaigns often overshadow generic campaigns so for clients that
still use classic analytics we can use utm_noverride on these campaigns.
This option apparently does not exist in Universal Analytics. I tried to set
the campaign source to an empty string whenever the url contains utm_nooverride
but this seems only to work for custom campaign tagging and referrals, but not
for auto-tagged Adwords campaigns.
Of course we could use multi-channel funnels and attribution modelling to
evaluate the impact of generic campaigns to but this is not really the same.
Could utm_nooverride or some similar functionality be implemented in universal
analytics?
