[BUG] Weird behaviour for textinput in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) #885

Closed Plitz135 closed 1 week ago

Plitz135 commented 2 years ago

Describe the bug When doing type text in MS Word or Outlook, the text is manipulated: All double letters get replaced by single letter. This does not occur when doing the type text in a text editor or in a browser. Neither similar macro apps like Cherry Keys have this problem. Seems like the problem could be MS Office's autocorrect function, but I have no clue, how or if this option can be disabled in the autocorrect setting. Is it possible that the input method is done in another way, as it forces some strange behaviour in other apps too, like ie there's no support for emojis or new lines with \n yet (or i.e. German Umlaute that have not been supported for quite a while until recently) - btw: Why is that?.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a new button in deckboard desktop app (Action Type Text)
  2. Type any sample text with double letters
  3. Open any Microsoft Office app (Word, Outlook, ...)
  4. Press the button with created test text on your mobile device

Expected behavior Double letters should be replaced by single letters by the MS Office autocorrect function.
