Pre-Game Checklist

Setting Up Accounts and Software:

[x] Download and install Discord.
[x] Create a Discord account if you don't already have one.
[x] Join the game's dedicated Discord server using the invite link provided by the GM.
[x] Download and install Roll20 (usually runs in a browser, but make sure you have a compatible one).
[x] Create a Roll20 account.

Character Concept and Creation:

[ ] Start brainstorming your character concept.
[ ] Create a Level 1 character on Roll20 using the Charactermancer or the method outlined by your GM.
[ ] Contact the GM if you need one-on-one assistance for character creation.

Technical Preparation:

[ ] Ensure you have a functioning microphone.
[ ] Check your internet connection stability.
[ ] Test your microphone on Discord.
[ ] Familiarize yourself with the Roll20 interface.

Gameplay Preparation:

[ ] Read the Basic Rules for D&D 5th Edition.
[ ] Acquire any additional resources or guides recommended by the GM for new players.
[ ] Understand some basic gothic horror tropes that might be relevant to Curse of Strahd.

Communication:

[ ] Introduce yourself to the GM and other players on the Discord server.
[ ] Clarify any queries or concerns you have regarding the game rules or your character with the GM.
[ ] Confirm the game schedule and make sure you have the right date and time for your timezone.
