Siphon shows "Service Unavailable" regardless of settings, hangs when attempting dial #103

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Siphon via Cydia, reboot.
2. Configure with any username, password, server in Settings
3. Run Siphon

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

When I start Siphon, I see my server IP address at the top, with "Service
Unavailable". When I attempt to dial a number, the app hangs unless I press
the home button and wait 10 seconds or so.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Siphon 20090102-1, iPhone version 2.2

Please provide any additional information below.

I have enable logging at various levels, and eventually found a log.txt in
/var/mobile/Library/Siphon, but the file is empty. I have run WireShark on
the SIP server on my local network, but never see any traffic from my
running Siphon. I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled and rebooted
again with no improvement.

Additionally, I notice that when I uninstall, reboot, reinstall and reboot
again, my
settings from the previous installation are still there. I would like to know
of a
way to COMPLETELY uninstall this program to ensure that I get a clean install.

I am also having the problem, but only on WiFi. If i turn the 3g/edge option
on, it
works perfectly (minus the sound quality). I am connecting to a vocalocity sip
server on iPhone 3g FW 2.2. I haven't check the log to see if anything is in
there.
I have even updated to the most current version of Siphon (todays release I believe)
and it did not fix the problem. Sometimes, I can connect via wifi, if I open
the
app, don't push any buttons, and let the screen turn off. After I turn the
screen
back on, it will sometimes be connected. Other times it will remain frozen or
will
have already hung and/or force quit.

work with SIP already).

I have confirmed that this problem only occurs over Wi-Fi. I am using a Linksys
WRT54G2. I have to turn Wi-Fi off in order to get Siphon to work at all. Issue
110
reports just the reverse, where it works on Wi-Fi but not Edge/3G. Any ideas
what
could be causing this? I've used both DNS and explicit IP addresses, so I do not
suspect a DNS issue.

This is weird, because there are no SIP message. Are you sure to define log
level to
detailed ?

Which version do you use ? 2.0.0-1, 2.0.0.-2, 2.0.1, 2.0.2.
Information is displaying on Cydia, package Siphon.

I am using port 5061 and have tried all combinations.

Port Server
5060 192.168.1.100:5061
5061 192.168.1.100:5061
5061 192.168.1.100

I think the problem comes from IP address. In fact, I use Reachibility example

I'm unclear on the fixed comment. The original issue has to do with wi-fi,
regardless of DNS or static IP
address.

I don't want to explain the process of bug correction
new->accepted->started->fixed->verified

So if you think it's not resolve, we can reopen it, but for that we need more
information ;-)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Please provide any additional information below.

I've been using Siphon since about 4 weeks. Worked perfectly until yesterday
when I upgraded to 2.0.4-1.
Since I upgraded I am getting an "Service Unavailable" error message. Service
is available and working from
another device and was working perfectly before the upgrade. I am not sure how
you can reproduce the
problem, the only thing I did was upgrade.

- What steps will reproduce the problem?
Problem occured after upgrade

- What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I get "Service Unavailable" .. should get "Connected".

- What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.0.4-1 on OS 2.2

Log file is empty even if debug level is "very detailed". I once got something
in the log that looked like what
the person copied in this thread but once I reloaded the app the log was
emptied and since then it always
stays empty.

Not sure what else I should try.

Regards,
Martin

Ah maybe I can add that I changed the Siphon Icon to a custom Icon (before the
upgrade it was changed) ......
not sure if that could be related to the problem. Maybe something goes wrong
during the upgrade when the
icon is not the original?
