Safari/FF lose focus when clicking a menu button

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Type a bit in the editor
2. Click bold
3. Continue to type without clicking on the editor

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output: I will continue typing into the editor with bold text.

Actual output: My typing is ignored because the editor no longer has focus.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
FF 3 on Mac OS X Leopard, Safari 3.1.2 on Mac OS X Leopard

Please provide any additional information below.

I tried to add a mouseup function on appendMenu but it didn't work out right.

Checkout my solution in issue #69.  Somehow I missed this post, or I would have 
added
it here.  But this is working for me know.
