A lot of people seemt o be using Powerstrip and ADW Launcher in combination. 
Powerstrip is a paid app that binds to your home key and, when you rpess it, 
overlays a dock over your current application, giving you the option to use 
widgets, etc. without leaving your current task. For instance, I could bring up 
Powerstrip by pressing home and then swipe across to the music widget, change 
tracks, and then hide the powerstrip again, without, for instance, stopping 
reading the web page I am on. A second press of the Home button then loads your 
chosen home screen app.

ADW Launcher also has a home screen dock. I would love to see ADW integrate 
this Powerstrip-like functionality so I only need to maintain one dock - one 
press rings up the ADW dock overlaid over your current app, a second press 
brings up the rest of the ADW Launcher.
