Hello,

I recently heard about Noto in a story on NPR.
I am very interested in the idea of improving access to the internet by 
enabling all people to interface with it in their own written language.

I earned a bachelor's degree in linguistics from Michigan State University in 
2000.
While I have been working in the unrelated field of insurance ever since, I 
still have a keen interest in modern applications of linguistics.

I would like to volunteer my time to assist Google with Noto.
Although I am probably not qualified to do any paid work on such a project, 
perhaps I can be of assistance as a volunteer.

Please let me know if Google would be willing to allow me to work on a 
volunteer basis.

Thank you very much for your interest. Noto is an open source project, so 
everybody can help as a volunteer. A good first step is trying the 
already-released fonts for languages and writing systems you know about, and 
telling if you find any issues with the fonts. Treat "writing system" as having 
a wide definition, from phonetic notation written in IPA, to Punjabi written in 
Gurmukhi.

Then use the issue tracker here to file the issues you find. We will confirm 
and get to fixing them.
