Add argument for identifying article type #50

Open mitchelloharawild opened 2 years ago

An argument in the front matter to distinguish between "Contributed research articles","News and notes" and potentially other categories is needed. Currently this is tested based on the directory structure, which is unlikely to be accurate for authors writing new papers.

Changed the default to the more likely "Contributed research articles", but more improvements are needed.

Possibly related to #40

Currently we only have two types, "Contributed research articles" and "news". These are the only things checked for in the code that I can see.

The type is set to be "package" but is not really being used from what I can see in the code. I think it could be useful in the future. There are instructions to authors at https://journal.r-project.org/index.html that give four types of articles that the journal would publish, and we could make the type argument match one one these so it makes more sense for users.
