How to include formatting in captions #56

Suggested example to help contributors understand how to incorporate references and formatting in captions – I think this would be a useful addition to the vignette.

@ms609 I needed to revise your text to get the vignette to compile. There is still a problem, in the that line:

r if (knitr::is_latex_output()) "(ref:demo-caption) Here is _italics_ and a reference to @RJournal in a caption."

doesn't render at all. I've tried many things but am unsuccessful. Do you know how to make it show up?
