This is exactly what I did right now:
1. A clean install of SandroProxy.
2. Set hostname:port, user, and password on "Connect to other proxy".
3. Activate "Transparent proxy".
4. Go to APPS tab and check only the HTTP box for a few apps (4 apps).
5. Give SuperSU permission when requested.
If I enable "Show CPU utilization" on "Developer Options" (or something
like that, I translated), I can always see org.sandroproxy on the list.
It seems that sometimes it uses more, sometimes less, but I left it
running for some time the other day and then Android pointed it as
responsible for some good percentage of battery usage, but Android
seems to take some time to gather battery information, so I don't have
any numbers right now.
