At this meeting, we'll talk about git, GitHub, and how to use these tools with RStudio for version control.
To Do Before this Meeting
Go through at least one of the below walkthroughs to familiarize yourself with git/GitHub:
Walkthrough using GitHub Desktop from Programming Historian - great for folks more comfortable with a graphical user interface (GUI)
"Try git" course on CodeSchool - doesn't cover GitHub, but covers the basics of git, the language that interacts with GitHub
*Learning git & GitHub from Lynda.com - more extensive introductions, but can pick and choose videos (must be on campus or go through the go link at go.middlebury.edu/lynda*)
And, if you don't already, make sure you have RStudio installed on your machine!
