no mountable file systems #229

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download 0.4.0
2. open dmg

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
An open DMG, but gets the error message: 
"The following disk images filed to mount
Image: MacFuse-Core-0.4.0.dmg
Reason: no mountable file systems

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
MacFuse 0.4.0
Mac OS X 4.4.9/10

Please provide any additional information below.
Is it my file (downloaded several) that is corrupted!?

Search around in:

1. The past issues reported (incorrectly) as MacFUSE issues
2. The macfuse-devel mailing list
3. The Internet

Did you install ntfs-3g? Apparently there's some version(s) of that with a 
messed up package that can cause 
this to happen. It doesn't uninstall cleanly either I'm told. Look for the fix 
etc. by searching as I said above. 
This is not a MacFUSE issue and MacFUSE cannot/does not affect disk image/DVD 
mounting.
