User feedback (5.1.2020, PSB with feedback on 14.1.2020):
Sensitivity analysis instructions on how to use (otherwise MANY simulations)
Shortage constraint -> huge impact on optimized system/LCOE
Cost split of CAPEX, OPEX, CAP costs was a bit unlear. CAPEX/OPEX fix/OPEX var for each of the assets is interesting
Add excess energy as a KPI on the results sheet
Discrete capacities RE (e.g. 100 kW wind) would be interesting -> with optimization in oemof not possible, but you can already optimize and use batch_capacity to rerun with "discrete capacities"
Having a diesel generator with fix efficiency a tough assumption. How include efficiency? -> Could be possible when integrating oemofs offset transformer -> Check paper with linear efficiency curve
Battery charges at night (no wind) -> need to check again!
Important: Battery charging? What are the rules based on? Battery is not charging huge excess generation. What is perfect foresight doing here?
Research fields:
Shortage constraint -> huge impact on optimized system/LCOE -> shortage as future research field, when is it a brownout/blackout? Days of shortage? Definition of constraint must be discussed (annual/hourly)
Utilization of excess electricity for off-grid renewable MG? Connected to Demand Side Management of specific demands (eg. cold storage, water purification) -> oemof DSM sink?
Perfect forsight with battery charging needs to be researched or way to circumvent it (rolling horizon)
Currently the optimization focusses on minimizing the annual supply costs, not LCOE. Is it possible to warp the algrorithm to optimize LCOE (important eg. when shortage is allowed)?
User feedback (3.12, Adnan regarding Offgridders UI by OGTC):
Software's Inputs:
-> Flexibility regarding characteristics inputs of PV, DG, wind Turbine, grid, etc
-> Parameters that identify share of Renewable/DG?
-> Location seems not specific regarding Altitude and Latitude
Software's Outputs:
-> Detailed results are still missing e.g. Monthly/ annually energy production, etc
-> Load factor of each power source?
-> Electricity to/from battery bank
-> % of losses, errors, etc.
There is user feedback that should be discussed in the future. Some of the notes might be referenced in other issues and, if so, should be linked.
