Outdated python version used for automated checks #234

The automated checks use Python 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7. Version 3.5 reached its end of life last September. Most distributions use 3.6 and newer. As far as I can see, 3.10 is the most recent version.

Proposed change: drop testing for 3.5 in favor of more recent versions.
