Configuration loading should be more user-friendly

very uncommon feature request ;) I dont know a single software where you can 
define a "not specified" config file name. But i think this is something for 
the windows noobs which are too dumb to use notepad ;-)

yes, you are right.
and you won't believe, but every second user incorrectly saves the config file 
using an extra ".txt" extension
