I expect to see a video. I see "could not load mplayerplug-in is now

I have the same problem too with http://www.shoutcast.com . I cannot open AAC+
streams, I can only listen to MP3 radios.

When clicking on an AAC+ radio I get "could not load mplayerplug-in is now
gecko-mediaplayer 1.0.8".

As a precision : I use Google Chrome, not Chromium.

As a first test does the plugin work in Firefox? Also your version of Chrome is
really old and some of the older versions had issues with the plugin, in fact
they blacklisted it because they could not support it correctly.

But it appears the plugin does not work in version 26 of Chrome either. Chrome
really does not support Firefox plugins that well these days. So I am not sure
how much I will be able to get it to work.

From the debug of chrome it does seem to says what is failing. Only that it is.
[49:49:0430/082440:ERROR:webplugin_delegate_proxy.cc(380)] PluginMsg_Init
returned false
[49:49:0430/082440:ERROR:webplugin_impl.cc(252)] Couldn't initialize plug-in

Hi,

mplayerplug-in works fine in all browsers I've tried: Chromium, Firefox, Opera,
Konqueror but GMP works in Firefox only, why?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Because mplayerplug-in uses the original API that Mozilla has deprecated, and
GMP uses the preferred NPAPI, that Google and others decided not to use. So it
is more of an API problem than anything. Chrome now has the Pepper API (PPAPI)
for plugins that is different than Mozilla. I don't have the time or resources
to support multiple browsers.
