I am creating a new issue with top priorities for the final sprint.
Map Search. The map landing seems random and too zoomed in. That is a new user won't know what to do. Can we add a text overlay saying something like "Select a house, zoom in/out, or drag the map with your mouse." I know it's long but from talking to Ted, many users may not be very sophisticated.
Select property; still forces user to pan down; can map be moved down so Property Display is visible? If you pick a house on the bottom of the map it shows entire PD; perhaps just move map down to lower position on screen along with click?
KC Parcel Viewer Link; does not pass the address
Property Details. Still need to indicate: Lot SqFt
Icons, The Icons are good and the mouse over on the right are great. We need something similar for the > and < for area details. One way to do that is to default open the Area Stats. That happens when you have the Area Statistics displayed and select another property and/or neighborhood. Then the < to close would be more obvious and > to open and will highlight our "value add."
Following Unregistered
When unregistered and select several properties, when Area Stats is not displayed, the < symbol should be > to open. Same if do a zip search.
Area Statistics are different for Zip vs. Neighborhood.
Area Stat order should be:
Average Assessed Value Green Color Higher, Better
Single Family Building Permits Green Color, Higher Better
311 Calls Visible from Street
Prop Violations Visible from Street
Crimes Against Persons
Crimes Against Property
Area Stat AVG should differ; these may be Medians; make sure they are AVG of the numbers vs. Quintiles. I just checked and the AVG number differs dramatically with fairly wide distribution. We can discuss if questions but I think we are AVG Quintiles. Brent and I also used Ranks which might work.
Map Settings Icon * should be "Search Settings" The map settings are the background map.
Map Layer. Add back Satellite view; replace on the the Open Streets
Following when Signed In
Banner wraps so options not accessible.
Map Search Type Not dissolve or close after select.
Saved search Icon when mouse over shows history; if select same house but different area the retrieve is inconsistent; sometimes leaves multiple of same. Not sure how, but 5509 TOPPING AVE retrieve zoomed out and showed all. Tried again and it doesn't zoom in or show property. I think it might be that I searched for that while unregistered or past session and changed Map Search from .25 to Neigh. Now, the Map Search options are open but greyed out. NOTE; I just logged out and searched for 5509 TOPPING AVE; it indicates NOT FOUND so property may have been dropped.
I went Home and auto logged out. Tried 5509 TOPPING AVE and it indicated "Not Found, Check Spelling or Map Search." That was good but Map Search option not open; shows up with red circle. Same if try zip not found. You have to actually erase the error; it still shows the red circle when click on Map Search but it does go to disclaimer.
