p. 445 of Second edition has the following text describing Fig. 14.5:

But notice too that shrinkage is not in direct lines towards the center. This is most obvious for the cafe that appears in the top-middle of the plot.

This text appears to be describing Fig. 13.5 from the First edition (text in first edition matches).

The middle-right point in Fig. 14.5 Second edition seems to better capture the relevant phenomenon
