TE and network resources

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Create a TE file and save it on an unmapped network resource (no drive letter, 
but rather something like \\server\temp\file.tikz)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No error or a meaningful warning. Instead:
! LaTeX Error: The font size command \normalsize is not defined:
               there is probably something wrong with the class file.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
TE 0.2, Win7 32bit

Please provide any additional information below.
This actually seems to be a problem related to pdflatex. Maybe a hint would be 
nice anyways.

I fixed this.
(It was caused by passing the filename to pdflatex containing backslashes
pdflatex \\bla\imaunc\test.tex
instead of slashes
pdflatex //bla/imaunc/test.tex
.)
